Author of nine books, Lena recently co-authored Meditation: Science, Medicine, and Spirituality, A Practical Guide to Body-Mind Transformation, which became an instant bestseller in Taiwan and Hong Kong, topping several charts across multiple genres as the number one book and has been nominated as one of the top ten most influential books in 2014. Her previous book published after her freshman year of college, Harvard Unveiled, was also a best seller in its genre. Lena has also published seven illustrated children’s books as a sophomore in high school and several educational articles and pamphlets on “holistic” healing and preventive medicine. Her writing bridges her own experiential understanding and spiritual journey with theoretical doctrines from the past and science-based research.
Working mostly in oils with the occasional venture into other mediums, Lena’s artwork is an expression of her own personal journey. Through her paintings, she explores an array of intense mental and emotional states—the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, authentically embracing the myriad of emotions that we have been gifted as humans and that she believes are the fundamental essence of the human experience. Each of her paintings is a mirror into her inner self as she captures the raw emotional experience embedded within a single moment in time. By fully embracing and owning her truth, Lena’s paintings take the audience on an intimate journey through the roller coaster of emotions that she vulnerably shares with the world. It is only through the unconditional and nonjudgmental acceptance of her imperfections and her flaws that she can boldly channel the freedom that she has found, the healing that she has received, and the passion that she has rediscovered. – John Tabacek
